The Korean film Victory 2024, directed by Park Bum Soo, is set to release on August 14th in South Korea. The drama stars Lee Henri as Pil Sun, a highly skilled bowman passionate about dancing.
Although Pil Sun is seen as a troublemaker, she and her best friend Mi-Na aim to start a cheer leading squad to create a dedicated dancing space. They recruit Se-Hyun, an experienced bowman with cheer leading background, and together they form the Millennium Girls.
Cheering for their team, they also face internal struggles. Park Se Wan portrays Mi-Na, and Jo Bram plays Se-Hyun.
Director Park Bum Soo, known for Red Carpet and Single in Seoul, hopes the film provides comfort to viewers during difficult times. Lee Henri, known for roles in My Roommate is a Gumbo and Reply 1988, depicts Pil Sun as an alcoholic yet loyal character.
The casting process was intense, with auditions being even tougher than depicted in the movie. The actresses, who are not professional dancers, worked hard to master cheerleading routines.
Victory also includes Lee Jung-Ha, Chi-Ji-Su, Back So Hyun, Won Yoo Na, Lee Han Ju, Geom Ji Young, and Lee Chan Hyung. The film has premiered in South Korea, but there is no update yet on its international release or streaming availability.
